Pricing Details and Procedures

Your inquiry is being directed to Tom Hampton Agency, an affiliate of Car Guys Agency, from the Car Guys Agency Website.

Tom Hampton Agency Fee - $800 plus tax (paid half to start and the rest when the application is submitted to the state)
Texas State Application Fee - $700 (paid directly to the state)
Online Dealer Education Course - $149
Metal Dealer Plates (not required) - $90 each, limit 2

You will receive a POA to sign and return, granting us permission to work with your personal information for the duration of the application process, along with a PayPal link to make your payment.

Once we receive your signed POA and payment, we start by sending you a few links that help us gather personal and dealership information and copies of important documents. We put all the data into the application and verify with you that all the information is correct and get your signature on the appropriate pages.

When the application is ready to submit, we will ask for a check or cc information to pay the Texas Department of Motor Vehicle's application fee. The state charges 0.25 cents for check payments and about 4% for cc payments.


After submitting the application in eLicensing, we will continue to monitor the process and reply to any requests from the assigned specialist. A final decision varies with each application, however usually takes between 2-8 weeks. Please be aware that delays do happen. We do our best to work with all parties to shorten any delays that come up.
